Dream meaning Dreaming of a train

A train in a dream is a journey taken in company along a set course, the caravan of the modern world. The Qur'an, after naming the mounts God made for people to ride, adds that He creates what they do not know, which the interpreters take as the place of every new vehicle.

Boarding a train is joining a matter already under way, led by others and running on a fixed track: a post in an institution, a family plan, a group undertaking; its smooth running is a change of state that goes well. The driver or the conductor is the one in charge of the matter.

Missing the train, or running as its doors close, is a benefit lost through delay or hesitation, and the dream counsels readiness; another train arriving is a second chance. Waiting long on the platform is a matter delayed that asks for patience.

Taking the wrong train is a wrong turn in one's affairs, and getting off at the next station is correcting it early; the istikhara is the answer when the dreamer does not know which train to take. A train passing through a long tunnel is a hard stretch that ends in light.

A train that stops between stations is a matter suspended; one that leaves its rails is a matter going off its course, to be guarded against by care in dealings. Travelling with strangers is a journey shared with people not yet known, who may become companions. Arriving at the destination is the completion of the matter and its reward.

Setting out on a journey, the Prophet would say, "Glory to Him who has subjected this to us, for we could never have done it ourselves, and to our Lord we shall return," and that is the prayer for the journey the dream shows.
