Dream meaning Dreaming of a camel

A camel in a dream arrives as the animal of long roads and heavy loads, and its subject is endurance: what you are carrying, how far you still have to go, and whether you ride or bear the weight yourself.

The Qur'an asks its listeners to look at the camel, how it was created, and gives camels a place in its stories: the she-camel sent as a sign to the people of Thamud, who hamstrung her, and the image, shared with the Gospels, of a camel passing through the eye of a needle. When the Prophet reached Medina, his camel al-Qaswa was left to walk where she would, and the mosque was built where she knelt.

A man who asked whether to tie his camel or trust in God was told: tie it, and trust. Classical interpreters read riding a camel as a journey, a she-camel as a woman or a blessing, and a herd as wealth.

A sturdy camel under you is a journey or a long matter you have the strength to finish; a heavily laden camel is responsibilities you carry for others, and a blessing in them; a lame or fallen camel is a journey that stalls or strength that fails, to be rested before you go on. A camel that runs away is something left untied, be it wealth, a matter or a person, and the Prophet's word is the answer: tie it, and trust.

A kneeling camel is arrival and settling, as al-Qaswa knelt where the mosque was built, and a she-camel that comes to you is a blessing or a marriage.
