Guidance held with care, insight without haste

Dream meaning Dreaming of an airport

The interpreters once read the gathering place of caravans as the threshold of a journey or of a change of state, and an airport in a dream is read the same way: a move, a new work, a marriage, a departure. What happens there tells how the change will go.

Checking in and boarding smoothly is a journey or a change that goes well; a delayed flight is a matter held back for a time; a cancelled flight is a plan that will not go forward in that form, sometimes a mercy, for the Qur'an says one may dislike a thing while it is good for one.

Missing the flight is an opportunity slipping away, or a journey not meant for the dreamer, and running late through the terminal is haste to guard against. Having one's bags searched is being called to account, or a matter examined; travelling light is ease and readiness; losing one's luggage is a burden taken off, or a loss to guard against.

Seeing someone off is a parting, with a return if they turn to wave; welcoming an arrival is news, or a person coming back. A plane that returns after taking off is a second chance. Before a real journey the tradition asks for the istikhara and, at the door, the traveller's supplication.
