Dream meaning Dreaming of milk

Milk in a dream is knowledge, sound faith and lawful provision: the fitra, the pure nature every person is born with. On the Night Journey the Prophet was offered a vessel of wine and a vessel of milk, chose the milk, and was told he had been guided to the fitra.

He also told of a dream in which he drank milk until he saw its freshness coming out of his fingernails, then gave what remained to Umar, and he read it as knowledge. So drinking fresh milk is knowledge gained, faith made firm or a clean livelihood; drinking until satisfied is a full share of that good; handing the cup to another is teaching or passing on what one has received.

Milking a sheep, a goat or a cow is lawful profit from work, and much milk is abundance in the house. Sweet, fresh milk is good in its season; milk that has soured or spoiled is a benefit that has turned, or a gain mixed with something that must be cleared; spilled milk is provision lost through carelessness.

Rivers of milk recall the rivers of Paradise whose taste never changes, a sign of reward for patience and good works. Giving milk to a child or a guest is generosity and care that bear fruit. Milk mixed with water is a matter made weaker than it should be, or dealings that must be kept honest.
