Dream meaning Dreaming of a stranger's face

An unknown face in a dream belongs to no one you can name, and yet it looks at you as if it knows you. The interpreters read such strangers with care: an unknown old man is the dreamer's own fortune and luck in the world, cheerful or grim according to the elder's expression. An unknown young man stands for a rival or a trial ahead, and an unknown woman for the world itself and the year to come.

The feeling decides much. A kind stranger who guides you points to help arriving through someone you have yet to meet, or to a capacity in yourself you have yet to recognise. A stranger who frightens you, or whose face keeps shifting, is a trial or an adversary not yet recognised, and the dream asks for protection rather than suspicion of those around you.

A face without features is a matter whose people have not yet shown themselves. Hold on to one detail, such as the eyes, a scar or the way the stranger spoke: the unknown face usually hands the dreamer a single clue, and that clue is the door.
