Dream meaning Dreaming of an elevator

The interpreters read every new thing by what it does, and an elevator in a dream carries the dreamer up or down without the effort of the stairs. Rising in an elevator is a rise in standing, a promotion or a matter lifted, and because the rise comes by a machine and not by one's own steps, it often comes through someone else's means: a patron, an institution, a door opened by another.

The Qur'an says that God raises in degrees those who believe and those given knowledge, and the higher the floor, the higher the degree. Descending calmly is a return from a high matter, or a humbling that is not a loss; plunging suddenly is a fall in position or a support giving way, to be met by guarding one's standing and one's dealings.

An elevator stuck between floors is a matter suspended, neither finished nor lost, such as a decision, an appointment or a transfer; it asks for patience and prayer rather than forcing the doors. Doors opening onto the wrong floor are an outcome different from the one sought, and the dream counsels checking where one is being taken before stepping out.

A crowded elevator is a rise or a fall shared with many, or a pressure from those around the dreamer; riding alone is a matter carried by oneself. An elevator going down to a basement is entry into hidden matters or a lower place, and coming back up is coming out of it. Pressing a button with no response is a request not yet answered.
