Dream meaning Dreaming of a throne

A throne in a dream raises the dreamer, or someone else, above the room, and it asks about power: who holds it, how it was received, and what it demands in return. The Qur'an ends the story of Joseph with a throne.

After betrayal, slavery and prison, Joseph raises his parents onto the throne and says, "O my father, this is the interpretation of my dream of long ago," the dream of the eleven stars, the sun and the moon bowing before him. So a throne in a dream is often the fulfilment of a long hope.

The interpreters read sitting on a throne as rank, authority or an honourable marriage for the one who deserves it, and as exposure for one who seizes a place beyond their measure; the Queen of Sheba's throne, brought to Solomon before a glance could return, reminds the dreamer that every seat rests in God's hand.

Ascending a throne calmly is responsibility or rank that comes to you; a wobbling or broken throne is a position resting on weak ground. An empty throne is leadership waiting to be taken up in a family or a community, and bowing before someone else's throne is service to one in authority, or honour paid where it is owed. If the dream raised you, rule well in what you are given.
