Dream meaning Dreaming of a crown

A crown in a dream is honour, authority and rank: kingship for one who is worthy of it, leadership, a position of trust. For a woman it stands for her husband, her marriage and the honour of her household.

Being crowned by a ruler or a person of standing is honour and favour coming from them, a promotion or a charge given; placing the crown on one's own head is reaching for a rank, and whether it sits well tells whether the rank will hold. A crown of jewels or of light is honour joined with knowledge and a good name; a crown of flowers or green leaves is joy, a celebration or a wedding.

A crown of gold is honour and adornment for a woman, while for a man the interpreters read it as authority that comes with its worry, for they are wary of gold on a man. A crown that weighs heavily is an office that brings its burden, and bearing it upright is carrying it well.

A crown that falls, breaks or is taken is a loss of standing, a position left, or a worry touching the one it stands for, and picking it up again is honour restored. Seeing someone else crowned is honour reaching them, and if the dreamer loves them it is joy shared.

In the Persian memory of the Shahnameh, a crown is rightful only while the royal glory, the farr, rests on the one who wears it, and the dream is read the same way: honour is given, and it is kept by justice.
