Dream meaning Dreaming of a feast

A feast in a dream is joy and provision gathered, a wedding or a celebration, and honour among people, and the dreamer's place at the table tells their share. Being invited to a feast is an honour, a reconciliation or a good gathering the dreamer will attend; eating freely at a full table is provision that comes with company and ease; a wedding banquet is a marriage or a bond celebrated.

Hosting a feast is generosity, a rise in standing and blessing on the household, for Abraham hurried to bring a roasted calf to his guests, and glad tidings came to his house. Sitting near the head of the table is honour, and sitting by the door is a modest place that humility can raise.

Arriving to find the food finished is a chance missed through delay, and the dream counsels readiness; being turned away at the door is being kept from a benefit for a time, or a warning against a gathering that would not be good for the dreamer. A feast where the rich are served and the poor sent away is the one the Prophet called the worst of food, and seeing it is a warning to give the neglected their share.

A feast of strange or forbidden food is a gain or a pleasure to be examined before it is taken. The banquet Zulaykha gave for the women of the city, where they cut their hands at the sight of Joseph, shows that a feast can hide a plan, so a lavish table offered by someone with a purpose is watched with care. Eating at a feast in Paradise is reward and joy.
