Dream meaning Dreaming of a friend betraying you

A friend's betrayal in a dream is a matter of trust: the friend stands for themselves, or for the helper and companion the dreamer relies on, and the betrayal shows where that reliance is being tested.

A friend who speaks against the dreamer or reveals their secret is a warning to guard one's secrets and not to place a trust where it can spill; a friend who takes what belongs to the dreamer is a loss through someone close, to be prevented by care in dealings. Being left out of a gathering of friends is being kept from a matter or a benefit for a time, and being welcomed back is a return to favour.

Betraying a friend oneself is a right owed to someone that has not been paid, whether a promise, a debt or a word spoken behind their back, and a call to make amends before it grows. Quarrelling with a friend and then making peace is a rift that heals, and the dream often comes before the reconciliation.

The dream is never made into an accusation against the friend: the Prophet taught that a disliked dream is kept to oneself, and that it will not harm the one who seeks refuge from it. Joseph's brothers betrayed him and threw him into the well, and that betrayal was the road to his rise, until he could say to them, "No blame upon you today."

A betrayal seen in a dream is often the beginning of the betrayed one's rise, and forgiveness is its seal. Whatever the dream showed, keep the friendship as it was.
