Guidance held with care, insight without haste

Dream meaning Dreaming of being in court

A court in a dream brings a matter into a room with rules: a judge, a charge, witnesses, and the waiting for a verdict. It comes when a question of blame, of a right owed or of justice long awaited is nearing its hearing: whether you will be found at fault, whether you will be judged fairly, whether a matter that has troubled you will finally be settled. The traditions give judgment deep roots.

The Qur'an tells how two disputants climbed into David's prayer chamber to ask for a ruling, and how David and Solomon judged the case of a flock that grazed a field by night, Solomon's understanding completing his father's. Classical interpreters read a just judge in a dream as justice arriving and a right being restored, and an unjust judge as oppression that will be exposed.

Standing trial calls for honest self-examination; being acquitted announces relief from blame or anxiety; being sentenced is a warning to repair a wrong while there is time. Being tried for something you did not do is an accusation that will be raised against you and answered, and the dream tells you to have your proof ready; being the judge yourself is authority coming into your hands, with the duty to weigh fairly.

Testifying as a witness is a truth you will be called to speak, and speaking it is part of the good the dream carries. An empty courtroom is a matter whose hearing has not come yet. When a real dispute is pending, the dream's counsel is to ask God for a just outcome and to repair what can still be repaired.
