Dream meaning Dreaming of a storm

A storm in a dream is a trial that comes with force: a fear, a sudden change, the anger of an authority, or a hardship that sweeps through a household or a land. Its passing is relief.

The Qur'an describes people sailing with a good wind and rejoicing, until a storm wind comes and waves close in from every side, and they call on God sincerely, and He brings them to safety; so a storm at sea that ends at a calm shore is fear followed by deliverance.

A storm that tears off roofs and uproots trees is a hardship that reaches people of standing or shakes the foundations of a house, and the destroying wind sent against 'Ad is the tradition's warning about what arrogance invites.

Taking shelter from a storm in a mosque, a house or a cave is protection given; being caught outside in it is facing a trial without cover, and it asks for prayer and for the shelter of good people. A storm that passes and leaves clear sky and clean air is a trouble that clears what was stagnant, and a matter made plain afterwards.

A storm that lifts the dreamer and carries them is being swept along by events, and where they land tells where the events lead. Rain that falls gently within the storm is mercy and the storm's good.

When a strong wind blew, the Prophet would say, "O God, I ask You for its good, the good of what is in it and the good of what it was sent with, and I seek refuge in You from its evil," and he taught that the wind is sent by God with mercy or with punishment and must not be cursed. His words are the prayer for anyone who wakes from a storm.
