Dream meaning Dreaming of resurrection

Resurrection in a dream is life returning where it seemed to have ended: the dead rising, a grave opening onto light, a whole landscape waking after winter. It is among the most powerful images a sleeper can receive, and the traditions read it first as hope.

The interpreters say that seeing the Day of Resurrection arrive in a particular place means justice will be established there and the wronged will find redress; seeing the dead rise from their graves is relief for prisoners, debtors and mourners, and old hopes returning. The Qur'an answers the man who asks who will give life to crumbled bones: "He who produced them the first time."

It also tells of the traveller who passed a ruined town, lay dead for a hundred years, and was raised to watch his donkey's bones clothed again in flesh. Christian readers bring Easter morning and the empty tomb to the same image. Rising from a grave yourself announces renewal after exhaustion, illness or shame.

Standing before the scales of judgement asks for an honest review of your deeds while there is time to set them right. Fear in this dream is a call to repentance; peace in it is glad tidings.
