Dream meaning Dreaming of perfume

Perfume in a dream is praise, a good name and good deeds that travel beyond the dreamer, and affection between people.

Wearing a pleasant perfume is being well spoken of, a deed that is noticed and thanked, or knowledge that benefits others; smelling musk or rose oil is pleasant news arriving or the company of a good person, for the Prophet likened a good companion to a seller of musk, from whom you either buy, or are given some, or at least carry away a sweet scent.

Being given perfume is affection and honour from the giver; giving it is praising someone or making amends with them. A bottle of perfume spilled is a good name or a secret that spreads further than intended; a bottle broken is a praise that turns to gossip, or a bond that needs mending.

A foul smell where perfume should be is bad speech about the dreamer, a dealing that is not clean, or a presence that repels the angels, and it asks for refuge and for the house to be cleansed. Perfume worn for prayer or for the day of gathering is worship offered well, as believers are taught to go to the Friday prayer washed and perfumed.

A perfume the dreamer recognises from someone they know is that person's remembrance of them, or news from them. Too much perfume is praise that tips into display, and the dream counsels a lighter hand.
