Dream meaning Dreaming of a net

A net in a dream is known by what it catches and who casts it. For one who works with nets it is livelihood: casting a net and drawing it in full of fish is provision coming in abundance, a gain from many small sources, or people gathered to the dreamer's work; drawing it in empty is effort that has not yet yielded, and casting again is patience.

A net spread across the dreamer's path, or a hunter's snare, is a plot or a deception laid for them, and seeing it in time is being warned; being caught in a net is being entangled in a matter, a debt or a scheme, and slipping free or being cut loose is deliverance from it. A torn net is a plan that fails, the dreamer's own if they cast it, or one laid against them if another did.

Mending a net is repairing a livelihood or a household's means. Birds caught in a net are gains taken by skill, or people won over; releasing them is generosity, or letting go of what was not lawfully taken. A net thrown over a house is a trouble spread over the family, and lifting it off is relief.

The Gospel tells how Peter, after a night of catching nothing, let down his nets at Jesus' word and drew in so many fish that the nets began to break, and was told that from then on he would catch people. A sudden full net after long failure is provision granted by grace.
