Guidance held with care, insight without haste

Dream meaning Dreaming of the moon

The moon in a dream is the minister beside the ruler, the mother or a woman of standing, a beloved or a child of beauty, and the states that change, for the moon waxes and wanes and marks the months by God's command. A full, bright moon is honour, beauty, a good marriage, a child who brings joy, or a matter reaching its fullness; a crescent is a beginning that grows, and for many a new month of blessing.

The moon darkened, eclipsed or fallen is a worry touching the one it stands for, or a matter that wanes for a time; the moon split is a great sign, as in the Qur'an's "the Hour has drawn near and the moon was split." The moon in one's lap or house is honour coming into the household, whether a marriage, a child or a position, and holding the moon is reaching what was sought.

Two moons are two people of standing, or a doubling of good. Walking by moonlight is guidance in a dark season; the moon hidden behind cloud is a matter delayed. Joseph's dream of the sun, the moon and the stars bowing is the tradition's own key: the moon there was his mother.
