Guidance held with care, insight without haste

Dream meaning Dreaming of escaping

An escape in a dream is safety from what the dreamer fled, and its road, its refuge and its ending tell how that safety comes.

Fleeing a danger, whether a pursuer, a fire, a flood or a hostile crowd, and getting away is deliverance from a harm or a trouble that was close; Moses said to Pharaoh, "I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord gave me wisdom and made me one of the messengers," and the interpreters read an escape made in fear as a door opening onto a better state.

Escaping from a prison or a locked room is release from a worry, a debt or a confinement; escaping with others is being the cause of their safety as well. Hiding in a cave, a mosque or a family house is protection given, as the Prophet and Abu Bakr hid in the cave on the road to Medina and he said, "Do not grieve; God is with us."

An escape that fails, or a door that will not open, is a matter not yet finished, to be met with patience and prayer rather than haste. Fleeing from a duty, a family or a rightful stand is a responsibility the dreamer is avoiding, and the dream warns before the cost grows; fleeing toward a mosque or toward prayer is repentance, for the Qur'an says, "So flee to God."

Running while the legs refuse to move is a matter not escaped by effort alone, and the answer is refuge in God. A flight that returns night after night, with a presence close behind, is a case for ruqya.
