Guidance held with care, insight without haste

Dream meaning Dreaming of being deported

A deportation dream removes you from the place you call home: officials at the door, papers declared invalid, a vehicle taking you toward a border you never chose. Its subject is exile and rejection, the fear of being told you belong nowhere, and what home truly means. For many families these dreams carry real history: displacement, precarious status, relatives sent away. The traditions also read exile spiritually.

Adam and Eve left the garden with a promise of guidance on earth; the Prophet was driven out of Mecca, and his migration became the beginning of a community; Victor Hugo wrote some of his greatest pages during nineteen years of exile, most of them on Guernsey. In these stories, being sent away is also being sent toward something.

Being deported alone is being set apart from a group that once held you, a family, a workplace or a community, and the stories promise a destination as well. Being deported with others is a shared hardship, and help from those who share it. Hiding from officials is a matter you fear will come to light; standing calmly with your papers in hand is your right being upheld.

Arriving in an unknown country and finding kindness there is a new belonging and provision waiting.
