Dream meaning Dreaming of birds attacking you

Birds attacking in a dream turn something light and free into a swarm: wings at the face, beaks at the hands, a sky that suddenly wants something from you. Since the interpreters take birds for people, words and news, a flock that attacks is a group whose speech is wounding you, or worries that press from many sides at once. Scripture gives the image two faces.

In the story of Joseph, a prisoner dreams of birds eating bread from his head, and Joseph reads it as a grave outcome; yet the Qur'an also tells of birds in flocks that pelted the army marching on Mecca with stones, birds sent as protection. Whether the birds come against you or on your behalf matters.

Birds pecking at your head are words and worries pressing on you; at your hands, criticism aimed at your work or your earnings. Covering yourself and waiting is patience under a storm of words that will pass; driving them off is being rid of what was said; finding a sheltering room is protection that comes. A single bird that breaks from the flock and lands calmly beside you is one friend among many voices.

Name no one because of it; the morning and evening remembrances are the shelter it asks for.
