Dream meaning Dreaming of a tornado

The interpreters read a tornado as a whirlwind: a sudden trial, a powerful adversary, or a fitna that spins through a place and lifts what is not held down. Its path tells what it reaches. The Qur'an gives the whirlwind's clearest reading in a parable: a man with a fine garden, grown old and with weak children, sees a whirlwind with fire in it strike the garden and burn it.

It is the image of good deeds and long effort ruined by showing off, by reminding people of favours, or by harm done to those one helped. So a tornado that tears through the dreamer's field, shop or work is a warning to guard the intention behind what they have built.

A tornado seen far off, passing over other lands, is a trial reaching other people, which asks for prayer and help for them; one that turns aside from the dreamer's house is a danger averted.

Taking shelter underground or in a strong room and coming out unharmed is safety through the means God provided; being lifted by the tornado and set down elsewhere is a sudden change of place or state, good or hard according to where one lands. Things torn from the house and scattered are possessions or plans dispersed by a sudden event, and gathering what remains is patience rewarded.

Rebuilding after the tornado is recovery and a household made stronger. Standing in the tornado's path without fear while others flee is steadfastness, praised only when it is not recklessness. When strong winds blew, the Prophet asked God for their good and sought refuge from their harm, and a dreamer who has seen a tornado asks the same.
