Medicine in a dream is a remedy offered before you have asked for it. Pills, a bitter syrup, an herbal brew, a bottle handed over by a doctor: the form changes, and the interpreters read them all the same way. Medicine is good counsel, repentance or a way out of difficulty, and its taste matters.

A sweet remedy promises an easy recovery or advice that is pleasant to follow; a bitter one, a truth that is hard to swallow and good for you. Islamic tradition gives particular honour to honey, of which the Qur'an says "therein is healing for people," and to the black seed that the Prophet called a cure for every illness except death, so dreaming of either is read as blessing and restoration.

Refusing medicine is refusing counsel that would help; giving it to someone else is good advice you will give; taking the wrong medicine is a solution that does not reach the cause. A pharmacy full of remedies is a way out that is near, with a choice to make among them. If the remedy was sweet, praise God for the ease it promises; if it was bitter, take the counsel and ask God for the cure.
