Bent almost double under a bundle of ten heavy staffs, a man carries them toward a town that is still some way off. He cannot see where he is going, because the load blocks his view. This is burden: too much responsibility, taken on willingly and now crushing.

Upright
This is too much to carry. The Ten of Wands shows success that has turned into weight, with every duty yours and every task on your back. You will reach the town, and it is costing more than it should. Put some of it down. Delegate, refuse, ask. Finish what truly must be finished, and question why you picked up the rest.
Reversed
By choice or by collapse, the load is dropped. Burdens are being released, or a person is so overloaded that things begin to fall. The Ten of Wands reversed also shows weight that was never yours to carry. Sort the bundle. Hand back what belongs to others and keep only what you chose.
In love
The relationship feels like work. One of you carries more than a fair share of the chores, the worry and the emotional effort. Say so before resentment sets in. Without a partner, you are too weighed down by duty to leave room for love. Clear some space.
In work
You have taken on too much and you are close to exhaustion. The effort is real and the goal is near, so finish the essential task. Then change how you work: share the load, set limits, and stop saying yes to everything.
Yes or no?
No. This would add to a load that is already too heavy for you.
