Ten of Swords tarot card

Tarot card meaning Ten of Swords

Under a black sky a figure lies face down on the ground, pinned by ten swords. Along the horizon, across still water, a band of gold is breaking. It gets no worse than this. The card is rock bottom: a painful and final ending to a matter, and the dawn that stands behind it.

Upright

It is over, completely. The Ten of Swords is the lowest point: a collapse, a betrayal, a defeat with nothing left to salvage. Do not try to revive it. Accept that this is the end of the matter, because acceptance is what frees you. Nothing more is taken from you here. Look at the horizon in the card. The night is finished and the light is coming.

Reversed

You are getting up. After the worst comes recovery: the swords fall away and strength returns. In its harder form, the Ten of Swords reversed is an ending dragged out by someone who will not let the finished thing be finished. The worst has already happened. Rise slowly, and leave the swords where they lie.

In love

A painful ending: a break, a betrayal, a final disappointment. It is finished, and denying it only prolongs the hurt. Let it end. Alone, you have reached the bottom of an old grief, and from here the only direction is upward.

In work

A project, a position or a plan comes to a hard end, with a sense of failure or of having been betrayed. Do not cling to the wreck. Accept the loss, take what there is to learn, and prepare a fresh start. Nothing lower is left. The turn comes next.

Yes or no?

No. This has come to its end, and nothing further is to be gained from it.
