Under a tree sits a young man with his arms and legs crossed, staring at three cups on the grass before him. A hand from a cloud holds out a fourth, and he does not look up. He is bored, withdrawn, turned in on himself. The card is apathy, and the offer that goes unseen.

Upright
Nothing satisfies you, and you have stopped looking. The Four of Cups describes weariness with what you have and blindness to what is being offered. Nothing excites you. Some of this withdrawal is needed; it is time to reflect. But lift your eyes. Something is being held out to you, and you will miss it if you keep studying your discontent.
Reversed
You look up. The mood lifts, interest returns, and the hand holding the cup is noticed at last. You are ready to rejoin life and accept a new possibility. Move while the motivation is fresh. The period of stagnation is ending because you chose to end it.
In love
Emotional flatness. In a relationship, routine has dulled the feeling and you take each other for granted, so do something to wake it. Alone, you turn offers down out of disappointment with the past. Someone is interested. You have not noticed.
In work
The work no longer stimulates you, and opportunities pass without your seeing them. Do not refuse an offer out of habit. Ask what you want instead of listing what you dislike. A pause for reflection is fine. Sulking is not.
Yes or no?
No. Your heart is not in this, and you are not ready to accept what is offered.
