The most friction comes in squares, signs three apart that share a modality and pull different ways, such as Taurus and Leo or Scorpio and Aquarius, and in quincunxes, five signs apart, such as Leo and Capricorn. The lowest scores go to these pairs, and each of their pages says plainly what the friction asks of both.
Are two people of the same sign compatible?
Yes. Two of the same sign share an element, a modality and a ruling planet, so they recognise each other at once and rarely need to explain themselves. Their friction comes from the same place: two Aries, for instance, are two leaders on one road.

Yes. Opposite signs such as Aries and Libra or Taurus and Scorpio share a modality and stand in elements that feed each other, so the pull between them is strong and each holds what the other has to learn.
How is the compatibility score calculated?
The score weighs three things in turn: the aspect between the two signs first, then their modality, then their traditional rulers. The same score appears in the tool, on the pairing pages and in the app.
Can incompatible star signs make it work?
Yes. A square or a quincunx brings more friction, and its pairing page names what that friction asks of each. A comparison of the two full birth charts also reads the Moon, Venus and the rising sign, and there a couple often finds the ease its Sun signs lack.
