The story. For decades this handwritten Arabic manuscript of the eighteenth or nineteenth century was kept out of sight and carefully preserved. Its pages, in a fine naskh hand crowned with red and violet headings, hold an astrology of the old masters that appears in no printed book. Luxarion now brings it to light for the first time.

The hidden question. It opens with the tale of Masha'allah al-Sindi, the astrologer who read a king's unspoken thought at court, and then teaches his method: how to read the question hidden in the mind of the person before you, from the Ascendant and the twelve houses, before a single word is said.

The questions of life. Money and trade, gain and debt. The sick person and how the matter will turn. What was stolen and where it went. Marriage, the journey and the absent traveller, enemies, rulers and their fortunes. Each question is answered the way the masters answered it.

The lots. Full tables of the astrological lots for nativities and for the turning of each year: the lots of fortune, of wealth, of marriage and of the thing desired, set out cell by cell as the scribe drew them.

The right moment. The art of elections: when to marry, when to travel, when to build, when to move house, when to begin, read from the Moon, her mansions and her passage through the signs.
